STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES (SMSS)

The Strategic Management Support Services section is commanded by Deputy Commissioner of Police Strategic Management Support Services (DCP), whose main responsibility is to oversee the strategic planning of all issues relating to Human Resources, procurement and distribution of resources.

Deputy Commissioner of Police: Strategic Management Support Services is assisted by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP): Administration and Director of Training.

The Strategic Management Support Services offices oversee administrative matters of the organization to ensure its smooth running. The core functions include among others the following:  

  • Strategic planning of Human Resources
  • Provision of Departmental Material Resources
  • Recruitment of staff for LMPS
  • Management of Performance
  • Preparation of budget
  • Allocation of funds
  • Provision of support services
  • Preparation of project proposal for LMPS
  • Production of annual reports
  • Management of payments of accounts
  • Monitoring of expenditure and revenue
  • Procument of uniform, equipment and other material resources such as vehicles.
  • Management of department’s fleet
  • Formulation of policies on staff development, training, deployment and welfare.
