Student commits suicide on a graduation day

 MASERU: A 27-year-old Limkwokwing University of Creative Technology student gunned himself the same day that he was supposed to have stood boldly on the podium.

It is reported that the diseased was to receive his academic certificate for the associate degree in Information and Technology on the 17th, September, 2015.

According to Mrs. Thembiso Lišeho a biological sister of the deceased, her brother had a quarrel with his wife on the 16th, September, 2015 at Koalabata, Berea while the sister stays at Naleli Maseru.

She alleged that her brother failed to raise money for the graduation gown and an outstanding balance for school fees.

She further mentioned that her sister-in-law who is deceased’s wife arrived at Naleli where she is staying and reported to her that she had a quarrel with her husband and later they went to bed.

“I received a call from my brother asking about the whereabouts of his wife and I informed him that I am with her,” Thembiso Litšeho said.  

Then the wife left with the intention to inform other family members .

On the way her husband phoned and notified her that he was going to kill himself, and without delay she told her husband’s sister.

“Immediately she phoned and requested me to talk to my brother about his intention to commit suicide, but unfortunately when I phoned him it was too late,” Mrs. Litšeho said, when revealing her brother’s ordeal.

Inspector Motlatsi Moletsi from Mabote police in the CIS department said police has attended a scene and a corpse was conveyed to the local mortuary pending postmortem.

He concluded by revealing that a case of enquiry  has been opened.

However the graduation ceremony was held at Lehakoe Recreational Centre.
